Our primary consultant and speaker, Kristján Már Hauksson, has years of experience speaking at international seminars, conferences, and workshops. He’s a popular lecturer in Iceland and abroad for schools and organisations, in the media, and with marketing departments. Kristján has been quoted in major international and local business media such as Reuters, Mashable, TechNews Daily, PR Week, Viðskiptablaðið, MBL.is, Search Engine Strategies, and State of Search. He has been involved in developing internet solutions since 1996, and has immersed himself in internet marketing since 1998.
Kristján has worked as a consultant for Fortune Global 500 corporations, and small brands located in his home country, Iceland. He has extensive experience working in online crisis management for government agencies, and has throughout his career worked with governments and/or their agencies in Europe, America, Africa, and Asia.
Amongst brands that Kristján has worked with include Fujitsu, Symantec, VMware, Expedia, NFL, Bing, Tesco, and Budget.
Kristján specialises in multilingual internet marketing and is the co-author of the highly regarded book "Global Search Engine Marketing". His specialty is assisting companies in gaining international visibility through search engines and the holistic usage of the Internet as a marketing medium. He is the founder of the Iceland SEO/SEM forum, and sits on the board of directors at SEMPO (Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organisation), and is on the advisory board for Bing Advertising.
He studied Electrical Technology with an emphasis on Electronics at Reykjavík Technical College (IS). He has a degree in Systems Analyzing from the Private School of Iceland Computer and Engineering (IS), and an Internet Marketing degree from University of British Columbia (CA).
